Have the Life You Want by Being Present to the Life You Have

In a world that lives like a fist, mercy is no more than waking with your hands open.

So much can happen with our hands open. In fact, closing and stubbornly maintaining our grip is often what keeps us stuck, though we want to blame everything and everyone else, especially what we’re holding on to.

There is an ancient story from China that makes all this very clear. It stems from the ways traps were set for monkeys. A coconut was hollowed out through an opening that was cut to the size of a monkey’s open hand. Rice was then placed in the carved-out fruit which was left in the path of the monkeys. Sooner or later, a hungry monkey would smell the rice and reach its hand it. But once fisting the rice, its hand could no longer fit back out through the opening. The monkeys that were caught were those who would not let go of the rice.

As long as the monkey maintained its grip on the rice, it was a prisoner of its own making. The trap worked because the monkey’s hunger was the master of its reach. The lesson for us is profound. We need to always ask ourselves, What is our rice and what is keeping us from opening our grip and letting it go?

The truth is that food is everywhere. Though the stubborn monkey believes in its moment of hunger that there is no other food, it only has to let go for its life to unfold. Our journey to love is no different. For though we stubbornly cling, believing in our moment of hunger that there is no other possibility of love, we only have to let go of what we want so badly and our life will unfold. For love is everywhere.

You Can Heal Your Heart: Healing with Mirror Work – Transcript

We’ve all heard about Louise’s mirror work and some of you have seen her do it. It’s amazing. First of all she has a heart shape marriage she does it with, which is just beautiful in itself.

But Louise talks to herself. I mean sometimes when I pick up mirror and I am like, I love you and I’m trying to really work through it.

Louise picks it up and it’s like she’s seeing an old friend. How are you. And I love you. And, it’s so great to see you. And I think what an incredible relationship she’s developed with herself.

When you develop that kind of whole relationship with yourself when another person steps into your life your two holes coming together. You’re not an open wound saying this is who I’ve been and I hope you’re going to complete me. You’re ready for a new exciting relationship and that mirror work is just amazing.

Let’s just take a look at what we see in the mirror.

Just breathe.

I want you to say to yourself your name, I love you, I really really love you. I love you, I really really love you.

It’s a new thing you probably haven’t done it before. But what we’re really trying to do is to connect with the inner child, within who has been neglected for so very long.

Most of us when we look in a mirror we criticize ourselves, make fun of ourselves. We say derogatory things to ourselves. It’s a habit and what we want you to do is to start connecting with that inner child within you that want so much to be loved. And hasn’t been perhaps years and years and years and years. And maybe never when it was a child.

I know this is a tough one to stay. But if it’s too tough to start with you can start with something like … Louise I’m willing to learn to like you. Not quite so threatening.

So, this is something I want you to do, a lot. First thing in the morning, I want you to get in the habit of having your little mirror with you. Whipping it out at any time or any time you pass a mirror say something nice to yourself.

I will look at myself and say, “you look fantastic kid.” And sometimes I’ll say, you know you may not be as tight and taut as you used to be but you’re fabulous, you’re absolutely wonderful.

We want to be our own cheerleader we want the things that we say to ourselves support us and love us and make us feel good or make us feel silly.

You know you’re a hot potato. And it’s not only just saying you love yourself but do your affirmations in front of a mirror.

Do your forgiveness in front of the mirror. If you have somebody you need to forgive do it in front of a mirror. And if you have a big mirror sit down in front of it because you won’t run away you can’t it’s too hard to get up. And you can sit there and you can cry but you’ll go through it whatever it is and it’ll be fast.

The mirror as small as this may be can really help you connect with yourself. Looking in the mirror and say, “how can i make you happy, what can I do to make you happy today?”

Super Moon Forgiveness and Gratitude Ceremony

The Super Moon Forgiveness and Gratitude Ceremony

Below is an excerpt of How To Do A Full Moon Forgiveness And Gratitude Ceremony by Yasmin Boland

As close to the Full Moon as possible, sit quietly for 10 minutes or so and mentally forgive anyone against whom you hold any kind of grudge or resentment. If there’s anyone who’s getting on your nerves or really upsetting you, ask them to forgive you for your bad feelings and send them love.

Then do the following:

1. Take some deep, cleansing breaths. Release any stress, worries or cares as you breathe.

2. Now think about a habit, a thought pattern, or an idea or an upset that you want to release. It can be more than one. Write it down on a sheet of paper – write as much as you need to, to ‘express’ it.
3. Next, think of anyone who has upset you. You can go right back to your childhood, to anyone who, seemingly, did you wrong and whom you haven’t yet forgiven. List their name(s) on the same sheet of paper, and also write down what it was they did. Write as much as you need to. You have now created a forgiveness list.

4. Close your eyes and visualize each person in turn. See them inside a pink bubble in your mind’s eye (pink is one of the colours of love). See them smiling at you. Create a good feeling between the two of you. Say silently or out loud: ‘I forgive you.’, and then let them float off in their bubble.

5. Now recite the following Full Moon Forgiveness and Karma Release Formula: ‘Under the glorious Full Moon, I forgive everything, everyone, every experience, every memory of the past or present that needs forgiveness. I forgive positively everyone. I also forgive myself of past mistakes. The Universe is love, and I am forgiven and governed by love alone. Love is now adjusting my life. Realizing this, I abide in peace.’

You may wish to add: ‘I bring love and healing to all my thoughts, beliefs and relationships. I learn my lessons and move on. I call on my soul fragments to be cleansed by the Full Moon and I call on them to re-join me. I send love to myself and everyone I know, and everyone who knows me, in all directions of time. Under this glorious Full Moon, I am healed. My life is healed. And so it is. So be it.”

6. Stand over a sink, or anywhere else where you’ll not set fire to the house, and burn your forgiveness list. This ritual releases the energies into the ether for transmutation into love.

Then be sure to spend a good five minutes with your hand on your heart, thinking about someone or something you are truly grateful for. Job done. This is a month ritual which, if you do it with passion, will clear you out energetically so you can better manifest your dreams.
